When the school day ends, many Bridge School students continue their enrichment without leaving school grounds. Our after-school program, Bridge Bananas, is a big hit with students and parents alike for providing an active, fun and safe learning experience until 5:30 every weekday. The program takes full advantage of the entire Bridge facility, with activities occurring on the fields, skating rink and playgrounds, in the gym and computer lab, and in the Bananas’ dedicated area, which includes a workshop for building things, craft materials, and lots of LEGOs.

Run by Josh Hummel, Bananas serves as an extension of the school day in a structured but more relaxed environment. Bananas serves 10-15 students per day.

Schedule

Bridge Bananas runs from 2:45-5:30 each full day of school.

Each day offers a variety of choice time, regular group activities, and special group activities. Each afternoon starts as a group with snack, then outside time. During inclement weather the gym will be used for physical activities. Following outside time will be kids’ choice time offering art and crafts, quiet time for board games, reading, story time, and indoor play. Some weeks will focus on special group projects. Each day ends with clean up time.
